Privacy Policy
ApexCalis is built so that you can use it without giving us any personal data at all. This policy explains what the app stores on your device, what is sent to us if you choose to create an account, and your rights.
1. Who is responsible
ApexCalis is developed and operated by its developer in Sweden (“we”). Contact: [email protected].
2. Data that stays on your device
By default the following is stored only locally on your iPhone and is never sent to us:
- Your program choice, level, logged sets, reps, times and extra weight.
- The tendon & muscle load values the app calculates from your logs.
- Workout photos and videos you save in the Arena, and Vision AI results.
- Settings, language, reminders and notification preferences.
If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it unless you have enabled account backup.
3. Vision AI form check
Form analysis uses Apple's Vision framework on your device. Camera frames, photos and videos are processed locally and are not uploaded to us or to any third party. Scores and angles are stored locally. If you export or share a result, you decide where it goes.
4. Apple Health
With your permission the app can read your latest body weight from Apple Health (used for band and load estimates) and write your completed workouts to Apple Health. Health data is handled under Apple's HealthKit rules: it is stored by Apple on your device, is never used for advertising, and is never sent to our servers.
5. Optional account
You can use ApexCalis fully without an account. If you choose to sign in (email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple), authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We then store:
| Data | Purpose | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and a user ID | Sign-in and account recovery | Firebase (Google Cloud, EU/US) |
| Encrypted backup of your training logs, settings and progress | Restore on a new device and sync | Firebase / Apple iCloud, depending on the feature |
Legal basis: performance of the service you requested (GDPR art. 6.1 b). You can delete your account and all server-side data at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account.
6. Community (Arena)
If and when the community feed is enabled, anything you choose to post (clips, photos, text, skill badges) is visible to other users and stored via Apple iCloud/CloudKit. You can delete your posts, and report or block other users, directly in the app. Posting is always a deliberate action; nothing is shared automatically.
7. Purchases
Pro subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card details. We receive an anonymous receipt that unlocks Pro features. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings.
8. What we do not do
- No advertising, no ad networks, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No sale or rental of personal data.
- No analytics SDKs that profile you. We may receive anonymous crash and performance reports through Apple if you have allowed this in iOS settings.
9. Children
ApexCalis is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can access, correct, export and delete your data, and object to or restrict processing. Most of this you can do yourself in the app. For anything else email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
11. Retention
Local data stays until you delete it or the app. Account data is kept while your account exists and is deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Backups are purged on the same schedule.
12. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will show a notice in the app before the change takes effect. The current version is always at apexcalis.com/privacy.
